Colin and Sheryl Vega, owners of VIP Fit Club in Macedon, recently established an annual Palmyra-Macedon Dollars for Scholars scholarship.
Starting in June, a scholarship will go to a graduating senior intending to pursue a career related to fitness or exercise science.
Founded in 2013, VIP Fit Club prides itself on providing fitness services that help transform lives. Colin Vega, a Macedon native, served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan for the U.S. Army. He named his 24-hour center Victory in Peace as a tribute to his experience.
The 4,000 square foot facility features individual training and two dozen themed classes. Boot camp classes are structured to target teens to senior citizens.
“Our chapter appreciates the generosity of our local businesses,” said Robert Yost, president of Dollars for Scholars. “We welcome scholarships from community members who wish to support higher education for local graduates.”
