The Rochester Police Department and the Monroe County District Attorney's Office have launched a criminal investigation into the death of Trevyan Rowe.

The teen wandered from his school bus at School 12 the morning of March 8. His body was found in the Genesee River three days later.

Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli and Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley announced Tuesday that the investigation began on Friday, March 16.

The Rochester Police Department and the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says they cannot comment on the possibility of any criminal charges until investigation is complete.

Last week, Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren said adults failed the teen.

On Monday, Attorney General's Office announced it was launching in investigation with the New York State Education Commissioner's Office.
