A new chilling public service announcement focuses on school shootings.
The video was released Thursday by the group Sandy Hook Promise. It shows what appears to be a typical teen talking about how nobody saw the signs of a potential school shooting, from bullying to threats on social media.
The camera then pans back to reveal a chilling scene in the 30-second clip.
"Most people think a school shooting could never happen here," the video says. "But those same people are the ones who saw all the signs and never said anything. Being bullied, the obsession with guns. Even posts on Instagram about shooting up the school. No one said anything. I'm sure tomorrow somebody wished they had said something."
The PSA is part of the Say Something program created by the organization. The goal is to educate students, parents, and teachers about speaking up when they see signs of a potential school shooter.
