Messenger Post Media was on the scene of a second alarm fire early Tuesday morning on Bristol St. in Canandaigua. It took several hours for multiple fire departments to get the blaze under control; at least two apartments in the house have extensive damage. No injuries were reported.

At 1:32 a.m. the Canandaigua Fire Department was dispatched to 137 Bristol St. for a bedroom fire which quickly evolved into a second alarm fire.

Cheshire Fire Department, Crystal Beach and the VA assisted at the scene. Farmington filled in at Station 2 in Canandaigua while Shortsville filled in at the VA Fire Department.

The building housed at least two apartments and damage spread to the second apartment before the fire was contained about three hours later.

Cheshire, Crystal Beach and the VA Fire Departments left the scene around 4:30 a.m.

Canandaigua Fire Department cleared the scene around 5:30 Tuesday morning.

Ontario County Sheriff's Department says no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
