Deputies say extreme wind caused a tractor trailer to flip over in the northbound lanes of I-390 at Exit 12.

At around 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, a tractor trailer flipped onto its side and was facing the wrong way blocking the left northbound lane.

Deputies say the driver and witnesses stated the trailer of the truck was suddenly pushed sideways by the wind as the truck passed over the Thruway bridge.

The driver was transported to Strong Hospital for evaluation after suffering minor injuries.

While the investigation is ongoing, deputies say drugs, alcohol or driver error did not play a role in the incident.

The left-hand northbound lane remains closed while the investigation and cleanup are underway.
