The Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary recently held a mini carnival for children ages 3-10 at Alex Eligh Community Center in Newark.
The auxiliary wanted to give children the opportunity to donate to their hospital. Admission was to bring one nickel deposit bottle for ages 3-5 or two nickel deposit bottles or cans for ages 6-10. Each child then received a sticker that read “I donated to the NWCH at the Carnival.”
Organizers said 75 children participated in the event. There were carnival games and prizes as well as a bounce house, pizza, popcorn, soda and water. Sponsors included Alex Eligh Community Center, Hometown Energy, St. Mark’s Baby Closet, Premier Martial Arts, Joey’s Northside Grocery, Birrittella Allstate Insurance, Arcadia Sports Awards and Tom Muscolino.
