Park Presbyterian Church and the Newark community recently gathered to bid farewell and well wishes to the Rev. Kirk Baker and his wife, Jen, as they move on to the ministry at Honeoye Falls Presbyterian Church.
Baker arrived at Park Church in November 2013 as a transitional pastor. He was tasked with facilitating a healing within the congregation after it had gone through difficult times.
During the event, several community leaders offered messages of appreciation. Stuart Blodgett presented a message about Baker’s ministry at Park Church.
As master of ceremonies, Blodgett introduced William Bush, of Family Promise of Wayne County; Linda Werts, of Newark Rotary Club; McKenna Briggs and the Rev. Timothy Johnson, of Park Church; Karen Vanderbrook, of Together in Christ; and Jim Wood, of Wayne Action for Racial Equality.
