A $25 million manufacturing facility is set to open in Henrietta by the end of the year.

Officials with OFD Foods broke ground earlier Thursday at the site of the new plant at 1000 Rush Henrietta Townline Road.

The company is the leading manufacturer of freeze dried foods for the military. The new facility will create 30 full-time jobs.

"We've even got a teaser that there may even be more expansion in 2019, so this is a good news day," said New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. "It's an internationally-known company that provides freeze-dried food for the military and hikers, and products we use every single day."

The project has received $400,000 in Finger Lakes Forward Upstate Revitalization Initiative grant funds. The New York Power Authority is providing 1.75 megawatts of low-cost power under the Governor's ReCharge NY program
