Mackenzie Galutia, of Newark, and Alyssa Farrington, of Williamson, recently were honored at the Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program Honors Convocation at Buffalo State. The convocation honored students who achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2017 semester, as well as students who have a cumulative 3.0 GPA through 2017.

Adam Lennon, of Palmyra, recently became a certified mentor at Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont. The program matches undergraduate students with fourth- and fifth-graders from Castleton Village School to provide social support and encourage them to attend college.

Andrew Opett, of Macedon; Melissa Reeves, of Walworth; and Arianna Palmer, of Williamson, recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, an all-discipline collegiate honor society, at Nazareth College in Rochester.

Summer Howard, of Walworth, recently participated in the ninth annual undergraduate New Critics Literature Conference at SUNY Oneonta. Howard, an English major, presented “Our Funny Pharaoh: Antony and Cleopatra.”

Jeffrey Jacques, of Williamson, received the Paideia Award for outstanding senior in philosophy during the 2018 honors convocation at SUNY Oswego. Jacques plans to attend graduate school in the University at Albany doctorate program.
