Douglas Duane Brown, 60, of 3652 state Route 89, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor; and two counts of second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia, also a class A misdemeanor, deputies said Saturday.

A Butler man on parole for a felony drug conviction is facing several new drug charges, according to Wayne County sheriff’s deputies.

Douglas Duane Brown, 60, of 3652 state Route 89, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor; and two counts of second-degree criminal using drug paraphernalia, also a class A misdemeanor, deputies said Saturday.

During a routine home visit by probation officers, Brown was found to be in possession of over 10 grams of crack cocaine, 2 ounces of marijuana, and various packaging and weighing paraphernalia, deputies said.

Brown was arraigned and taken to Wayne County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 insured bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 2.

The Wayne County Probation Department also has pending charges in Wayne County Court related to his alleged violation of probation.
