Newark First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., will hold its Spring Fling Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 9 on its main floor and lower level.
This year’s bazaar includes a selection of gift baskets, an attic treasures booth and booths specializing in crafts, jewelry, nearly new attire, holiday decorations, baked goods, books and plants.
Several commercial vendors will have booths at the bazaar. Local artists Dr. Chang, Vickie George and Grace Kreuger donated pieces for the silent auction. A snack bar will serve lunch fare for those who wish to sit and visit with neighbors.
Youth will host a penny carnival for visitors, and plan to include a cake walk. The steering committee, co-chaired by Nancy Schrader, Janie Reeder and Elsie Dedrick, spent several months planning for the bazaar.
The church is working with St. Michael’s Catholic Church, which holds its 2018 St. Michael’s Family Festival on June 8-9. The festival features a cake wheel, Spanish food, burgers, hot dogs, fries, strawberry shortcake, kids games, bounce houses, a pickleball tournament, school bands, a DJ and a cash raffle.
