Palmyra-Macedon announces spring scholar athletes
Palmyra-Macedon High School named its spring scholar athletes for 2018.
To be eligible, 75 percent of a team’s roster must achieve a minimum 90 average GPA.
This year’s spring scholar athlete teams are girls track and field, 94.35, coached by Matthew Robbins; softball, 92.32, coached by Ashley Schuth; baseball, 91.44, coached by Bryan Rodman; and girls lacrosse, 91.40, coached by EJ Burse.
Pal-Mac athletic director earns NIAAA certification
Tom Schmandt, of Palmyra-Macedon Central School District, recently received certification from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
Schmandt serves as director of physical education, athletics and community services.
This distinction goes to those who demonstrate the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration.
Thompson Health honors Palmyra nurse
UR Medicine Thompson Health recently honored Christy Grover, of Palmyra, as a long-term nurse of the year at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua.
Grover, a licensed practical nurse, was honored for structural empowerment.
Thompson Health celebrated its associates at its annual National Nurses Week celebration dinner.
