Todd Morgan and his attorney said nothing as they entered the federal courthouse in Buffalo.
During the hearing, Morgan's attorney entered a not guilty plea on all charges against his client.
Morgan was released on $25,000 bond and he also has to give up his passport for now.
Morgan is a project manager at Morgan Communities which is owned by his father Bob Morgan.
In Canandaigua, Pinnacle North Apartments at 20 North Shore Blvd is one of three Morgan properties, according to the company website. The other two are CenterPointe Apartments and Townhomes at 5570 Centerpointe Blvd and The Links at CenterPointe Townhomes at 2227 Brickyard Road.
Bob's nephew, Kevin Morgan, is also facing charges in this case and will be arraigned in Buffalo next week.
