Pal-Mac teacher receives Pi State Scholarship

Christine Bennett, a high school English teacher at Palmyra-Macedon Central School District, recently received a $2,000 Pi State Scholarship from The Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

The scholarship will fund Bennett’s final semester of coursework in educational administration through University of Rochester.

Bennett is a member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Omega Chapter.

 

Walworth resident joins CPL in Rochester

Deborah Barletta, of Walworth, recently joined CPL, a design firm that serves public- and private-sector clients, as Newforma implementation specialist for its Rochester team.

Barletta will facilitate Newforma training classes and work sessions, as well as generate various Newforma training materials as needed. She most recently served as records manager/Newforma administrator at SWBR Architects.

Barletta started and currently leads Upstate NY Newforma User Group.

 

Area residents honored by Thompson Health

UR Medicine Thompson Health recently presented its Shining Star Award to 31 associates during a ceremony at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua.

Local winners are Courtney Partington, of Macedon, recreational therapy; James Dietz, of Marion, facility services; and Debra Combs, of Palmyra, rehabilitation administration.

The award recognizes the winners’ contributions to the health system. Associates were nominated by their peers and selected by a secret committee.
