This year's Father's Day was an extra special one for dozens of Rochester area veterans.

Hundreds of people turned out Sunday to welcome them home at the Greater Rochester International Airport.

Some 57 people who have served during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and other eras came back from Honor Flight Rochester's Mission 60.

Honor Flight Rochester is celebrating its 10-year-anniversary of taking veterans on a free trip to Washington D.C. to see the memorials built in their honor.

"You know they didn't get the welcoming that they deserved back then, so you know we able to welcome them the right way, bring it in the right way," said Emma Blanding. "At least his grand kids and his great grand kid get to do that for him."

All the attendees on the Honor Flight have either served in the U.S Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and the Coast Guard.
