Palmyra Community Library recently honored three volunteers and one organization at the sixth annual Dixie Prittie Award reception.
The award was established in 2013 by the library board of trustees to recognize extraordinary volunteer service to the library. It is named in memory of Dixie Prittie, a longtime volunteer and advocate for the library.
The 2018 honorees are Jake LaLonde, who manages the library’s recycling; Erika Johnson and Mandy Rogers, who prepare the books for the library’s StoryWalk; and Friends of the Palmyra Library, who support the library with fundraising activities, book review luncheons and program sponsorship.
The award winners received a state legislative citation recognizing their service and signed by Assemblyman Robert Oaks, R-130th District, and State Sen. Pam Helming, R-54th District.
