State Sen. Pam Helming, R-54th District, will sponsor the Newark Pilots vs. Elmira Pioneers game at 7:05 p.m. on July 19 at Colburn Park, 1160 E. Union St., Newark.
“I appreciate the opportunity from the Newark Pilots to once again sponsor a game at Colburn Park, and I look forward to cheering on one of our local teams in the Wayne-Finger Lakes region,” Helming said. “Last year, I had the privilege of honoring recent Newark High School graduate Ben Cowles with a New York State Senate proclamation recognizing him for being named Finger Lakes East Player of the Year. Now, Ben is playing for the Pilots this season as he prepares to head to the University of Maryland, where he will play Division I baseball. It will be terrific to reconnect with Ben and his family, and it is always great to see Bob and Leslie Ohmann and Mayor Jonathan Taylor and thank them for everything they do for our communities. I encourage everyone to come out to the game and enjoy a family-friendly night of free fun and entertainment.”
Free tickets are available as part of Helming’s sponsorship at her District Office, 425 Exchange St., Geneva, in advance or at the gate on the day of the game. Call (315) 568-9816 to reserve tickets for groups.
