Two people were arrested in connection to the death of 6-year-old Aliyah Williams, according to Greece Police.

Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of 6-year-old Aliyah Williams, according to the Greece Police Department.

Greece Police arrested arrested Laura McCasland, 25, of Texas and Tyler Kanaley, 23, of California. Both have been charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the third degree.

The pair were visiting for a few weeks, staying with relatives of Kanaley.

Police say they are being charged because they were allegedly under the influence of marijuanawhen she disappeared.

On Thursday, Aliyah Williams wandered off in Henpeck Park, while under the supervision of McCasland and Kanaley. Police say during the search for the 6-year-old officers uncovered a half a pound of marijuana in the pair’s car.

That discovery then ultimately led to a search of the Greece home where Kanaley was staying. There police say they uncovered another 30 pounds of marijuana. Both were arrested Friday evening and charged Saturday night with criminal possession of marijuana.

Police say the pair will also be charged this week with endangering the life of a child.

Both McCasland and Kanaley are in custody at Monroe County Jail. Bail for McCasland was set at $30,000 cash or $60,000 bond.  Bail for Kanaley was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
