New York Senator Chuck Schumer is blasting a new federal plan to help pay to fight opioid drug abuse.

Sunday night Schumer accused The Centers for Disease Control of short changing New York City with its plans for $350 million just for the opioid overdose crisis.

The city had expected a big chunk of money for its plan to distribute the anti-opioid medication narcan.

Instead the CDC plans to send the money to the state for the state to pass out.

A statement from the CDC says it's had to make some hard decisions on setting priorities and that it's looking for more ways to work with local communities to find solutions.
