The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a Stop-DWI Crackdown for the Labor Day holiday period on Aug. 17-Sept. 3.
The crackdown is linked with other law enforcement initiatives done at key times of the year. It is promoted under a county and statewide umbrella.
The locally driven program includes all Wayne County law enforcement agencies. Police departments, New York State Police and the sheriff’s office are coordinating awareness, education and enforcement activities.
Research finds that highly visible, publicized efforts like the Stop-DWI Labor Day Crackdown can reduce the occurrence of DWI. Do not drink and drive.
