Rochester Police shut down a portion of Ridgeway Ave and surrounded a stolen car driven by a 13-year-old boy.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday, a 39-year-old man was beaten and had his car stolen in the 600 block of Dewey Avenue.
Officers spotted the stolen vehicle on Driving Park around 1:30 a.m. The teenage driver tried to elude police and after a short chase, the vehicle struck a curb in the area of 1200 Ridgeway Ave.
That’s when the 13-year-old driver and his 14-year-old passenger ran from the car and were taken into custody.
Due to their ages, their names are being withheld.
The driver was charged with robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
They are expected to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
