The supermarket is now using Aira Access, a service that connects people who are blind with trained agents who give them visual information.

The Aira technology will allow human assistance to deliver real-time visual descriptions for those who are blind or have low division.

A customer using a smartphone or a pair of smart glasses can connect to a remote, professional who can use a live camera stream, GPS and maps from the web to assist in their shopping experience.

It's now available for free in all Wegmans stores.
