Family Promise of Wayne County will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 400 S. Main St.. Newark.
Meetings are held bimonthly to keep Wayne County residents informed about Family Promise. The local affiliate recently hired Graig Roberts as executive director and established the Family Promise Day Center, 72 Broad St., Lyons. Roberts will speak at the meeting and give an update of his work over the past month.
The board of directors recently announced the opening date for services to homeless families. Church of the Epiphany in Sodus will host the first rotation, with families arriving on Oct. 21 for one week. Families will stay overnight for one week in host churches on a rotating basis, and will receive an evening meal and continental breakfast. Students will attend their home school during the day, and parents can work or work toward gainful employment. Some parents will remain at the Day Center with preschool children.

Charles Bollinger, coordinator of the Rochester/Monroe County Homeless Continuum of Care, will speak discuss the organization that serves as the coordinating body for homeless housing and services in Monroe County.
