Earlier Sunday, Cuomo declared that Mayor Shawn Morse should resign.

Accusations of domestic abuse are turning into a fierce confrontation between Governor Andrew Cuomo and the mayor of Cohoes, New York.

Earlier Sunday, Cuomo declared that Mayor Shawn Morse should resign.

That's after a local newspaper accused Morse of being physically violent with his wife and his daughter. Morse shot back saying Cuomo is the one who should resign, and called Cuomo "the most corrupt governor in America."

On Sunday, the chairman of the New York State Democratic Committee also sent out a statement saying Morse should resign immediately.

"Recent media reports surrounding allegations of domestic abuse by the mayor of Cohoes are disturbing and disqualifying. These reports merit further investigation and demonstrate Mayor Shawn Morse is unfit to serve. He must resign from office effective immediately," Chairman Byron Brown said.
