Palmyra Community Library, 402 E. Main St., will hold an election for two trustee positions, each for a four-year term, from noon to 9 p.m. on Oct. 9.
Deborah Nagle is running for her second term as trustee. She serves as vice president of the library board and works as the bookkeeper for Van Parys Associates in Palmyra.
Ian Priestley is running for the other open position. He is an agricultural environmental management technician for the Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District.
There will be no vote on the library’s proposed 2019 budget, because the operating budget remains the same as 2018. Voters must be registered and reside in the Palmyra Community Library district, which encompasses the town of Palmyra and excludes the portion that lies within Newark Central School District.
Absentee ballot applications are available at the library. Applications must be received by Oct. 2 if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or by Oct. 8 if the ballot is picked up in person at the library. Call (315) 597-5276 for information.
