Firefighters were called to the Pinewood Manor Motel on County Road 50 in the town of Canandaigua just before midnight Wednesday. There were no injuries and the fire was put out quickly but officials say it was intentionally set.
Deputies are working on a dual investigation Thursday, one looking into how the Pinewood Manor Motel, located on County Road 50 in the town of Canandaigua caught fire late Wednesday night; the other investigation is searching for who started the fire. Officials say the fire was intentionally set.
Deputies say someone was able to get inside a vacant room under renovation, set the fire, and then run off. Our news partner, News10NBC reports there were K9 units searching for the suspect near the scene.
A tenant in the room next door smelled the smoke. Firefighters responded and quickly put it out.
