Clark turned himself into the police on Monday.
A Wayne County man is facing charges of assault after allegedly leaving his girlfriend bloodied and bruised Saturday morning.
Deputies say 38-year-old Walter Clark, of Wolcott, allegedly pushed, slammed to the ground, dragged and punched the face and body of the female victim.
The female victim could be heard screaming for help near Main Street in Red Creek, according to deputies.
Upon arrival, first responders witnessed Clark hovering over the victim and then proceeded to run from authorities.
The victim sustained fractures to her face and ribs, a collapsed lung and several lacerations that required stitches. She was hospitalized and is still undergoing treatment for her injuries.
Clark turned himself into the police on Monday and was charged with felony assault in the second degree.
He was remanded to Wayne County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 insured bond.
