It's a change in tune from Governor Andrew Cuomo has turned down earlier debate challenges from hs Republican challenger Marc Molinaro

In a surprise move, Governor Andrew Cuomo is now pushing for an impromptu debate with his Republican challenger Marc Molinaro.

The debate would be Saturday at 8 a.m. on a New York City radio station.

And that's a problem, at least according to Molinaro.

Molinaro's campaign says the candidate will call out Cuomo and his "cowardness" for agreeing to this debate with no cameras and "zero planning."

That challenge will come during a press conference in Fairport later Friday afternoon.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll shows Cuomo with a 58-to-35 percent lead over Molinaro.

Cuomo and Molinaro are each taking on Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins, Libertarian Party candidate Larry Sharpe, and Independent Party candidate Stephanie Miner in the Nov. 6 general election.
