The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a Stop-DWI Crackdown for Thanksgiving from Nov. 21 to Nov. 25.
This crackdown is linked with other law enforcement initiatives done at key times of the year. The Sheriff’s Office is promoting it under a county and statewide umbrella.
The local crackdown includes all law enforcement agencies in Wayne County. Police departments, the New York State Police and the Sheriff’s Office are coordinating awareness, education and enforcement activities.
Research demonstrates that highly visible, publicized efforts like the Stop-DWI Thanksgiving Crackdown can reduce the occurrence of DWI. The next crackdown will take place during the holiday season from Dec. 13 to Jan. 1, 2019.
