LYONS — Died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Wayne County Nursing Home at the age of 96.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home at 77 William St. in Lyons. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5 at Christian Fellowship Church at 4000 Covell Road in Rose. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.

Pearlie was born on Dec. 12, 1913, in Garland, Ala., the daughter of Wes and Viola McMillion. She had worked at C.B. Foods in Alton for 20 years as well as doing house cleaning. Her love was her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Brown of Lyons; stepson, David Allen of Alabama; six grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jefferson, in March 1986; daughters, Katherine McMillion in 2010 and Annette Allen; a son; and great-grandchildren, Lewis Brown Jr., Bonnie K. Hardway and Dontrey Harrington.
COLLIER, DORIS L. MERRILL STEPHEN
NEWARK — Died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at the Wayne County Nursing Home at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6 in the Chapel of the Park Presbyterian Church on Maple Court in Newark. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 435 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620 or to a charity of one’s choice.
Mrs. Collier was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Morehead City, N.C., the daughter of Zennie and Sarah Oglesby Merrill. She had worked at Jackson Perkins for many years and then worked at the Newark Developmental Center until her retirement.
Doris is survived by her son, Henry (Christine) Stephens of Newark; daughter, Doris (Donald) Waddell of Phelps; four grandchildren, Stephen Kepner, Misty (Thomas) Nielson, Merrill Stephens, Cara Stephens; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Jolie Nielson; three sisters, Sallie Tataronwicz of New Bern, N.C., Mary Ann Donahue of Jacksonville, N.C. and Jeanette Morris of Beaufort, N.C.; a brother, Zennie Merrill of Morehead City, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Henry Stephens, who was killed during World War II, and Harold Collier on July 4, 1993.

LYONS — Of Jackson Street, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her home at the age of 48.

Dawn was born on April 18, 1962 in Fulton, the daughter of David and Barbara Hallows Conroy. She worked for Rustpak Co. of Lyons and Ultralife Battery in Newark. She was a graduate of Lyons High School, Class of 1980 and Plattsburgh State College in 1984.
Dawn is survived by her daughter, Rebecca; her parents, David and Barbara Conroy of Matlacha, Fla.; brother, Brian of Jacksonville, Fla.; and fiance, Joseph Lanning.

NEWARK — Died suddenly on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital at the age of 73.

Mr. Martin was born the son of the late John and Florence (LaGasse) Martin on Dec. 7, 1936 in the house where he lived with his family. He took over the family dairy farm which became known as the Martin Dairy Farms. He also owned and operated the Martin’s Farm Equipment Sales.
Largo, Fla., where the family owned a home, was a favorite spot for him to go. There he enjoyed playing shuffle board and games with his friends. Mr. Martin loved telling jokes, and always had a good one. He enjoyed dinners with his family, walks in the woods and riding his Harley with the love of his life, Shirley.
Mr. Martin will be remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley (Pembroke) Martin; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven (Marcia), Daryl (Sue), Dale (Donna), all three of Newark, and Randall and (Kym) Martin; grandchildren, Julie, Megan, Mindy, Sammy Jo and Brandon (Ashley) Martin; great-grandchildren, Brielle and Blake; his partner and follower through life, his dog, Jebi; and many, many friends.

SODUS — Passed away peacefully at Rochester General Hospital on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the age of 79.
She was born in Williamson.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; four daughters, Jerilea (Jim) Coulombe, Melody (Kevin) Maine, Cheryl Toor, Rebecca (Roger) Crane; five step-children; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; several family members and friends.

CLIFTON SPRINGS/LYONS — Passed away suddenly Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Wayne County Nursing Home at the age of 87.

Morta was born the daughter of the late David and Katherine Sedelies on June 28, 1923 in Lithuania. Her family had to leave their home during World War II. Two of her siblings and parents relocated to Germany and three brothers moved to Australia. She met and married Lt. Ralph R. Park Jr. in Germany in April of 1947. Morta first came to the states in October of 1947 and lived with her in-laws on their farm in Bulls Gap, Tenn. Morta proudly became a citizen of the United States in 1951.
Morta was fluent in three languages, English, German and Lithuanian. She received a diploma from the U.S. Army Signal School as a research associate in 1958. Morta enjoyed military life and traveled all over the world, living in Lithuania, Germany, France, Japan, Tennessee, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Virginia, New Hampshire, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina and New York.
For relaxation Morta enjoyed gardening, cooking and golf. She also enjoyed being a homemaker, entertaining friends, opera and nature. Morta had a wonderful sense of humor and she loved to tell jokes. Watching old movies and looking at pictures were among her favorite pasttimes.
Morta was an unforgettable character. She was a feisty woman that had spirit and determination and will be sadly missed.
Morta will be remembered by her sons, Ralph (Connie Eubank) Park III of South Carolina and Blake (Susan) Park of New York; grandson, Ray (Leann) Park IV of South Carolina; great-grandchildren Dillon and Kersty Park (Bryan and Ryan) of South Carolina; brothers, Heins (Anny) Sedelies of Germany and Otto Sedelies of Australia; sister, Lenchen Weihrauch of Germany; many wonderful sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; former daughter-in-law, June Whitmire of South Carolina; and her loving cat, Tootsie of New York.
Morta was predeceased by her husband, Ralph R. Park Jr.; brothers, Adam and Willi gave their lives in World War II, Max and Johann Sedelies; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Grace Park.

He was a U.S Navy veteran, member of American Legion Post No. 428, Xerox Pioneer Club and St. Mary’s of the Lake Church.
Friends called Sunday, Aug. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home at 1961 Ridge Road in Ontario. His Mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2 at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, followed by his Committal at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

VERKEY, ROSE KRUEGER
NEWARK — Died on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the DeMay Living Center at the age of 86.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 50 Spencer St. in Lyons, with the Rev. Jack Bailey officiating. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Verkey was born on Oct. 22, 1923 in Lyons, the daughter of Peter and Mary Perri Patrizi. She was a graduate of Lyons High School, Class of 1941. For over 30 years, Rose was a data processor at C.H. Stuart, Inc. She then worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Rochester for six years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church for over 60 years and a member of the Newark Elks Club Auxiliary.
Rose is survived by her son, Ronald (Debbie) Krueger and stepson, Charles (Chris) Verkey, both of Newark; seven grandchildren, Brian, Jessica, Mandy, Jeannie, Natalie, Dee, and Adam; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Adeline (Chico) Moracco of Geneva; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Edwin Krueger in 1985 and John Verkey in 2007.
