Bellomo, Louis
NEWARK — Louis Bellomo, 74, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, after a long illness, surrounded by his family at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Calling hours and a funeral service were held Jan. 18 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. Burial was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Victor.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.
Mr. Bellomo was born in Seneca Falls on Feb. 28, 1938, the son of the late Peter and Assunta Cavone Bellomo. He graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls, NY, and then served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Newark for 33 years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Newark, and an honorary member of the local Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered as a kind person who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Bellomo is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Joyce; his daughter, Stephanie (Tom) Walker of Liverpool, and son, Steven (Julie) Bellomo of Victor; his grandchildren, Kelly and Emily Walker and Andrew and Alexa Bellomo; along with two brothers, Robert (Margaret) Bellomo and David (Rosemary) Bellomo of Seneca Falls; a sister, Claire Withers of Canandaigua; and many nieces and nephews.

Freling, Jon Bradley (Brad)
NEWARK — Age 58, born in Newark, on Oct. 13, 1954, passed away suddenly at his home in Inverness, Fla. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013.
He was preceded in death by this father, Bernard Freling. He is survived by his wife, Donnzella; his three children, Lucas, Jason, Brian; and grandchildren. Survivors include his mother, Beverley R. Freling of Lake Worth, Fla.; brothers, Randy (Seana) of Newark, Kipp (Debbie), Mitch, Guy, Robbie; and two sisters, Cathy (Chris) Graves and Anne (T.J.) Davis, all of Florida. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McLeod was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Arkansas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mathis. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lyons branch. She lived in Lyons most of her life until moving to Newark.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Hugh; daughter, Adrian (Ben) Petterson of Oregon; two sons, David (Kay) Bloomstrom of Oregon and Michael (Nella) Bloomstrom of Newark; stepchildren, Laurie (Roger) Olschewske, James, Raymond and Donald McLeod and Hugh Stokholm Jr.; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and many friends. Quance, Harold E.
NEWARK — Harold Eugene Quance went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends attended a Memorial Service Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in East Newark Cemetery.
Mr. Quance was born the son of the late Burton and Lavina (Norris) Quance in Newark. He attended Newark Schools and had worked for Mobil Chemical in Macedon. He loved to watch Nascar racing, and his hobbies were repairing small engines and bicycles. Mr. Quance was a life long resident of the Newark area except for his enlistment in the Marine Corps during WWII. The funeral home proudly flies the Marine Corps. flag in honor of his service to our country aboard the battle cruiser USS Alaska CB1 in the Pacific region.
Mr. Quance will be remembered by his loving wife of 61 years, Elsie (Benjamin) Quance; sons, Robert (Joyce) Quance of Syracuse and Steven (Gail) Quance of Macedon; grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) Willard of Florida, Heather Quance of Syracuse, Jeffrey Quance of Florida, Shane Quance of Macedon and Seth (Kimberly) Quance of Florida; sisters, Marian Tank of North Carolina; brother, Peter Quance of Rochester; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Quance will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Spitz, Shelley Laure
Shelley Laure Spitz, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 after a long illness at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla.
Born in Nashua, New Hampshire she came to live in the River Park area of Fruitland nine years ago coming from Middleburg, Florida. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crescent City and Welaka Womens Club. Her hobbies included crocheting.
She is survived by Husband, Frank Spitz, River Park, Fruitland, Fla.; sons, Keith Spitz of Georgetown; Tom (Beth) Spitz of North Dallas, Texas, Jeff (Gina) Spitz of Hampton, La.; sister, Eva (Don) Shaw of Newark; brothers, John (Wendy) Wyman of Spokane, Wash., Mark (Debbie) Wyman of Marion; grandsons, Thomas and Steven Spitz; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17 at Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home with services at 7 p.m. with Father Rodolfo Godinez officiating.
