Newark — O’Neil, Edward James, 58, entered eternity on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at his home with his family by his side.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. March 19 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. All services will be private. Burial in South Lyons Cemetery.

In memory of Jim please consider donations to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd, Lyons, 14489.

Jim was born the son of the late Robert and Elsie (Giordani) O’Neill on Wednesday, April 21, 1954 in Rahway, N.J. For the last several years Jim worked for the Newark High School in the maintenance department. He loved working there and had a special relationship with the faculty and students. Jim volunteered for all the after school activity to be a friend to all the students. He also enjoyed fishing whenever he could get the time.

The funeral home proudly flies the Navy Flag in honor of Jim’s service to our country during the Vietnam War.

Jim will be remembered by his loving and devoted wife Nancy (Davis) O’Neill; son Jamie (Jevie) O’Neil, of Virginia; daughter Connie Davis of Newark; grandchildren Jalure and Jamison O’Neil and Meagan Webster, also A.J. and Amber Flores who Jim raised; sister Donna (Leroy) Lance of NJ; six nieces; and mother-in- law Esther Davis of Newark.

Jim was predeceased by his brother Robert O’Neill and father- in-law Stewart Davis in 2002.
