Case, Leon R.
NEWARK — Suddenly entered eternity Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 at Clifton Springs Hospital at the age of 80, a day after his 58th wedding anniversary.

Family and friends called Thursday, Oct. 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc. at 124 W. Miller St. in Newark. A Funeral Service was held Friday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial followed in East Newark Cemetery.

In memory of Mr. Case, please consider tokens of remembrance to the First Baptist Church of Newark, 133 E. Miller St., Newark, 14513 or Mercy Flight, Airport rd, Canandaigua, 14424.

Mr. Case was born the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Gleason) Case on Monday, Feb. 9, 1931 in Phelps. He was a 1949 graduate of Newark High School. Mr. Case retired from Garlock Corp. in 1993 after serving the company for 28 ? years in the press room.
The funeral home proudly flies the Navy flag in honor of his service to our country during the Korean War. Mr. Case was a member of the Newark American Legion August Mauer Post No. 286. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Palmyra, Garlock Old Timer’s Club and the Garlock Antiquity Club.

Mr. Case will be remembered by his loving wife Beverly (Freeland) Case; daughter Connie (James) Turner of Irondequoit; sons Steven and Scott (Deborah) Case both of Newark; grandchildren Kourtney, Sheldon, Seth, Logan, Evan and Melaney Case all of Newark, Kelly Turner and Erin Pittinaro of Irondequoit; great grandson Christopher “CJ” Corter of Irondequoit; brother Donald (Marcia) Case of Oswego; sister Edith Ryan of Newark; many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Case was predeceased by his brothers Charles, Alfred, Harold, Bernard, John, Francis, Lloyd and Robert Case; sisters Nellie Fitch, Rose Fitch, Betty DeBlaere and Blanche Beman.

LONGBOAT KEY, FLA./ FORMERLY OF NEWARK — Passed away Oct. 9, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.

There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc. at 124 W. Miller St. in Newark on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. Private burial at the convenience of the family.

The family requests donations be made to the Newark Rod and Gun Club, PO Box 302, Newark, 14513 or the National Parkinson's Disease Center, U of R, 919 Westfall Rd, Suite 220, Rochester, 14618 in lieu of flowers.

Dick was born on July 28, 1926 in Montour Falls, the son of the late Clara (Tuma) and Frank Sistek. He attended Dundee Central School and went directly into the Air Force branch of the armed services upon graduation in 1944. He was employed at the former Newark Developmental Center for 35 years and has been retired for 30 years. He was an avid reader of American History and participated in both Revolutionary War and Civil War reenactments. He was most passionate about shooting and enjoyed the various offices and positions he held at the Newark Rod and Gun Club, where he was a life member. He also participated in the FLDDSO Top of the Hill Club. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of SASS where he was known as "Uncle Dick Sacket".

He is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law Teena Rose (Sistek) and David Kantor of Longboat Key; and will be sadly missed by his beloved grandchildren Alexis Clare Meli of Dallas, Texas; Adrian (Jennifer) Meli of New York City, Drew Kantor of Providence, R.I.; and Cydni "Cupcake" Kantor of New York City; his dear friend and former wife Harriet (Sistek) Nemitz of Longboat Key and the loyal family pet Bambi.
He is also survived by his three sisters Jean Burns of Beaver Falls, Pa., Jane (Fred) Hampton of Albuquerque, N.M. and Joyce (Doug) Drake of Pittsford; one brother William (Barbara) Sistek of Sonora, Calif.; his son's widow Melissa Sistek; 24 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Richard F. Sistek, Jr., Geneva, in October 2010, and his brother-in-law Joseph Burns of Beaver Falls, Pa., in August 2007.

Stanley, Geraldine E.
 LYONS/NEWARK — Died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at the Newark-Manor Nursing Home at the age of 86.

Friends called from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Oct. 17 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home at 127 E. Miller St. in Newark, where a funeral service followed at noon. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Lyons.

In her memory, please consider a donation to the family, in care of the funeral home to assist in the purchase of a headstone.

Mrs. Stanley was born July 3, 1925 in Marion, the daughter of the late Leon and Minnie Johnson Birch.  She was a graduate of Marion High School and has lived in the area all her life.

She is survived by three sons Richard (Yvonne) English of Marion, Randy (Jane) English of Lyons and Leon Stanley of Lyons; eight grandchildren  Tammy English, Richard English Jr.; Sueann Marnard; Nicole, Brandon and Kimberley English; Angelica and Leon Stanley, Jr. She was predeceased by her husbands Frank English and James Stanley and a brother Ralph Birch.
