ONTARIO — Peacefully on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at the age of 96.
Survived by her son, Roger (Patricia) Hansen; four grandchildren, Noah, Brandon, Corey (Heather Surline) and Tiffany Hansen; two great-gandchildren, Hailey Hansen and Corey Hansen Jr.; special niece, Eileen Fioco; several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends and family were invited to call on Friday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario. Mary’s Funeral mass was offered on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church, 5823 Walworth Road, Ontario.

Russell, LaVena ‘Pearl’
PALMYRA — LaVena "Pearl" Russell, age 73, fell asleep on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012. She was with her daughter ,Dorothy, Dorothy's husband, Robin and Pastors Nancy J. Farrell and Glenn White.
She is survived by two brothers, Jack (Naomi) Ramsey of South Haven, Mich. and Lon Ramsey of Traverse City, Mich. She is predeceased by three sisters and three brothers and her parents, George W. and Cora L. (Mullins) Ramsey. She has three daughters, Dorothy A. (Robin) Richardson Palmyra, Stella M. (Timothy) Webb Fritch, Texas, Patricia L. Russell Springfield, Mo. Married in1958, survived by ex-husband, Jack D. Russell. She has five grandsons and two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
She retired in 2000 and enjoyed gardening, knitting and quilting. She was active in the Lake to Lake Quilt Guild from 2003 to 2007. A memorial party was held at Western Presbyterian Church on Main St. in Palmyra at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28,2012.
In lieu of flowers, Pearl requested that donations and gifts be given to Palmyra Community Library.
McEvoy-Curtin, Marian
OCALA, Fla. — Formerly of Macedon, born June 15, 1929 in Dansville, N.Y. Marian went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012. S
he was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas McEvoy; her son, James McEvoy; her brother, Paul Pfuntner; and her sister, Virginia Lay. Marian is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Curtin of Ocala, Fla.; her brothers, Richard Pfuntner, Francis Pfuntner, James Pfuntner; her sisters, Doris Miles, Eileen King, Beatrice Robinson and Barbara Frey. Marian is the beloved mother of Martin McEvoy and Diane, Edward McEvoy and Donna, Richard McEvoy and Mery, and Stephen McEvoy. She will be missed by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marian lived most of her life in Macedon, and retired to Ocala, Fla. She was always very active in her church community wherever she lived. Volunteering was important to Marian. The Macedon Rescue Squad, American Legion, Senior Citizens Group, Meals on Wheels and St. Patrick’s Church were a few recipients of her care. She was proud of receiving many “awards” for her services to the local communities in which she lived.
All were invited to call Thursday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Payne & Murphy Funeral Home, 1040 Rt. 31, Macedon. Her funeral Mass was offered Friday, Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Patrick’s Church, 50 Main St., (Rt. 31) Macedon. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Perkinsville, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Brother’s Keepers Program, Blessed Trinity RC Church, 5 SE 17th St., Ocala, FL 34471.

Pohl, Kathleen (Hanlon)
NEWARK/CANANDAIGUA — Beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, Kathleen (Hanlon) Pohl, age 61, passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Rochester General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Allan Pohl; two daughters, Alanna (Gary) Hughes and Alisha Krajewski; two grandsons; mother, June Hanlon; seven sisters, Judith (Bruce) Romond, JoAnne Burdick, Sheila (George) Kincaid, Anne Marie (Roger) Florio, Janice (Greg) Spiess, Mary Hanlon and Sister Mary Elizabeth “Alecia”; four brothers, Thomas (Debra) Hanlon, the Rev. Fr. Kevin Hanlon, David (Patricia) Hanlon and James (Susan) Hanlon; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Thomas J. Hanlon in 1999.
Kathleen was born in Rochester and attended Mercy High School there. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and her jurist doctorate degree from Catholic University in Washington, DC.
Kathleen was an assistant district attorney in Ontario County for 14 years. She retired from Wayne County in April, where she was the assistant county attorney. Kathleen was formerly in private practice.
She was a member of the Wayne County Bar Association and a member of St. Michael’s Church in Newark.
Kathleen enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, sewing and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader.
Friends called Monday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
