We would like to thank the many people who supported the Wings of Light event held at Shepherd Home on Dec. 19. Over 250 luminaries were lit up that evening to honor and remember the many people who have been “angels” to us. The display extended down the length of the Shepherd Home driveway and up to the front door. Many community members visited Shepherd Home that evening to view the luminaries and to celebrate the evening with friends and family. Wings of Light raised over $2,000 that evening to continue our mission of caring for the terminally ill.
There were many who supported Wings of Light by their generous contribution of their time, talent, or services. We extend our gratitude to the volunteers who helped set up and light the luminaries that evening, and to the many who baked delicious Christmas cookies to serve as refreshments to our visitors. We also wish to thank Diane Fitzgerald-Harris for her graphic design talents, Sally Dixon of Cut and Copy for her publicity and writing experience, Clover Lawn and Landscape for their donation of materials, Mike Brown of Catering Works for donating coffee, Jeff Burns for his website development talents, and Daniel Finkelstein for filming the event.
We look forward to hosting Wings of Light next year and expanding our display. To view photographs from the event, please visit our website at www.shepherdhome.org.
