As a resident of the Brockport area for the majority of my life, I feel compelled to voice my opinion on Unity Health’s proposal to expand services already offered here in town (i.e. primary care and physical therapy).
Patient volumes in various departments that are offered at Lakeside Hospital would undoubtedly decrease and cause an unstable financial situation, putting hundreds of local jobs at risk. Independent data demonstrates there isn’t a need for additional primary care in this area. This town has seen its share of empty buildings. Duplication of services leads to just this, as we’ve seen with the CVS opening and Rite Aid closing.
Imagine driving to your local hospital for emergency care to find its doors closed. Quite a different feel, isn’t it? Please sign a petition (www.lakesidehealth.org/petition) against what could very well impact your health in the future.
