In a press release, Sen. Mike Nozzolio, R-Fayette, said the new tax cut will help New York take a leap toward reducing taxes and creating jobs.
"This Middle Class Tax Cut and Job Creation Plan will put people back to work, restore prosperity and provide relief for our taxpayers," Nozzolio said.
The legislation was enacted in early December, according to a press release. It cuts taxes for manufacturers who are creating jobs in upstate New York, allowing them to hire more people.
It also establishes the New York Works Initiative, which will develop highways and bridges, and bring other construction projects.
