The Golden Eagles cruised to a big win on Thursday night, which leads off our weekly recap of area sports

It’s always one of the more anticipated games of the Wayne County boys basketball schedule.

But on Thursday night, it was all Clyde-Savannah.

The Golden Eagles used accuracy from the perimeter, making 11 3-pointers, in a 61-45 win over Lyons on Thursday night.

Dru Carnevale scored 18 points, Derrick Chance scored 13 and had six assists, and Dylan Ufholz added 15 points for C-S. 

For Lyons, Justice Smith scored 13 points and Devin Franklin had eight points and 15 rebounds.

East Rochester 60, Sodus 55

Casey Michele scored 16 points, Mat Cicero had 14 points and Shamire Caraway had nine points and 14 rebounds for ER.

Greg Coe scored 15 points and Maliq Burton scored 11 for Sodus.

Gananda 74, Williamson 66

Enrique Mosman led Gananda with 29 points and Jayden Castrechini scored 19.

Edwin Wynn led Williamson with 21 points and Connor Garrod scored 17 while Adam Fisk added 13.

North Rose-Wolcott 60, Marion 51

Tyler Norris scored 32 points, Nathan Sanford scored 13 and Reece Morris scored nine for NR-W.

Mike Phelps and Rodney DeLyser each scored 16 for Marion.


Boys basketball

Midlakes 74, Gananda 71 (OT)

Bryce Burri had 28 points and five assists for Midlakes and Trevor Milliman had 14 points and 11 rebounds.

For Gananda, Justin Chamberlain scored 20 points, Jayden Castrechini scored 17 and Steven Heumann scored 15.

Leadership 54, Palmyra-Macedon 47

Hunter VanDeVelde scored 24 points and Damien Wright added 10 for Pal-Mac.

Dezmere Ellis led Leadership with 19 points, 15 coming in the fourth quarter. Milton Simmons had four points and 12 rebounds.

Williamson 63, North Rose-Wolcott 55

Edwin Wynn had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Williamson, and Connor Garrod scored 22 points.

Tyler Norris scored a career-high 42 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for NR-W.

Girls basketball

Midlakes 49, Gananda 40

Alaina Forbes had 24 points, 4 assists, 8 rebounds and 5 steals for Midlakes, while Claire DeBoover scored eight points.
