Red Raiders outscore opponents by 12-1 margin, which leads off our weekly recap of area sports

It's been a good week for the Palmyra-Macedon boys soccer team. 

How good? Getting two victories by a combined 12-1.

Heading into the weekend, the Red Raiders topped Newark 10-1 on Monday, then followed that with a 2-0 win over Geneva on Wednesday before playing at Eastridge on Friday.

Against Newark, Alex Wahl had two goals and three assists, Gabe Martinez had two goals and two assists, and Jake Gallina had two goals and three assists. Nick Sapienza added two goals and Cody Johnson and Wyatt Ashley also scored.

Marion 1, East Rochester 1

Aidan Cady scored in the 16th minute for East Rochester.

Williamson 3, Red Creek 2

Hunter Byron scored two goals and Justin Easton scored the third for Williamson, which also got assists from Easton, Connor Garrod and Simon VanHoover.

For Red Creek, Tristan McIntyre and Ignasio Lancho scored goals. Dylan Wood had an assist.

North Rose-Wolcott 4, Gananda 3

Sean Schukraft, Steven Heumann and Zach Ciprich scored for Gananda.

Thursday

Palmyra-Macedon 7, Waterloo 0

Olivia Keller scored three goals for the Red Raiders, who also got one save from Felicity Brockhuizen.

Emma Harwood, Emma Arnold, Madi Keller and Skylar Scheemaker also scored goals for Pal-Mac.

Wayne 5, Mynderse 1

Phyllis Reed scored two goals and Haley Albano, Alexis Gentile and Olivia Gilbert also scored for Wayne.

Mia Wemesfelder (4) and Alexa Glanzel (3) combined for seven saves.

Wednesday

Marion 10, Lyons 0

Chloe DeLyser scored six goals and Jackie DeMarco scored twice for Marion.

Julie DeMarco and Jade Tusch also scored, and Emily Brown (3) and Brianna Allen (1) combined for four saves.

Angelina Gonzalez had three assists for the Black Knights.

Gananda 3, Sodus 0

Red Creek 1, North Rose-Wolcott 0

Sydney Fisher converted a Jacquelyn Rice assist for the Rams, and Isabella Wilbur made 14 saves.

Joshanna Clark made seven saves for NR-W.

Tuesday

Wayne 7, Midlakes 3

Hannah Albano and Hannah Burns each scored two goals for Wayne, which trailed 2-0.

Shanna Gorsky, Phyllis Reed and Taylor Gabriel also scored for the Eagles, and Mia Wemesfelder (5) and Alexa Glanzel (2) combined for seven saves.

Alaina Forbes scored all three goals for Midlakes and Jen Maslyn made 10 saves.

Newark 3, Geneva 0

Grace Gajan, Phoebe Bates and Camryn Pettit scored goals for Newark, and Bailey McCormick made five saves.

Kylina Comerford made 18 saves for Geneva.

Tuesday

Palmyra-Macedon 5, Midlakes 0

In a singles match, Katelyn Berger of Palmyra-Macedon defeated Suellen Petracchi of Midlakes 7-5, 6-4.

In a doubles match, Andra Savage and Heather Weaver of Palmyra-Macedon defeated Hannah Peisher and Abby DeJonge of Midlakes 6-3, 6-4.

Brandy Morrison had 12 kills and Kierstein Hammond tallied 12 digs for Palmyra-Macedon (3-1) in their win over Midlakes (4-4) on Tuesday at Midlakes.

Kirra Harosia added eight assists for the Red Raiders as well. For Midlakes, Lydia Day had 10 assists, Paige Siganowich collected 10 digs, and Marie Rogers recorded seven kills as well.

Also for the Wildcats, Aidan Royston finished in third with a time of 18:33, Alex Lyons finished in ninth with a time of 19:58, and Liam Prendergast finished in tenth with a time of 20:04. Ben Eckler finished in fourth place with a time of 18:53 for the Red Raiders as well.

James Hallett of Honeoye finished in first with a time of 19:18 in a Wayne-Finger Lakes meet on Tuesday at Ontario County Park.

Max McHugh of Red Jacket finished in fourth with a time of 19:30 in a Wayne-Finger Lakes meet on Tuesday at St. John Fisher College.

Also for the Indians, Devan Stell finished in 11th place with a time of 20:22. Aiden Cort finished in seventh place with a time of 19:57, Bela Freiwald finished in eighth place with a time of 19:59, and Ben Clements finished in ninth place with a time of 20:17 for the Screaming Eagles as well.

Mikayla Gullace finished in first with a time of 23.11 in the Wayne-Finger Lakes meet at Tuesday at Ontario County Park.

Sarah Crane finished in fifth with a time of 25:10, and Nicole Watts finished in 11th place with a time of 26:52 for the Screaming Eagles as well.
