  • The class of 2013 has many talented students. But two standouts are Abbey Hoteling, valedictorian and Tristan Stoner, salutatorian.
Valedictorian Abbey Hoteling, daughter or Tracy and Andrew Hoteling, graduates with a 100.560 GPA. But her success goes far beyond those academic numbers. She is also a talented artist. Her impressive art portfolio includes award winning photography, drawings, watercolors and sculpture including nine Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Hoteling plans to continue her education at the University of Rochester where she plans to study neuroscience and pre-med.
While in high school Hoteling participated in math league, cross country, and track. She advises Gananda’s underclassmen to “get involved in as much activities as possible,” says Hoteling “grades are not the only thing that matters.”
Tristan Stoner, son of Scott Stoner and John and Annette Bailey, has been named Salutatorian for his GPA of 99.247. He has excelled academically while making waves on the swim team. As co-captain of the swim team, he has lead the team to four consecutive league titles. Stoner has also been band president, and lead the Science Club. Stoner plans to study Aerospace Engineering at SUNY Buffalo in the fall.
The Class of 2013 will graduate at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in Gananda’s Ruben A. Cirillo High School auditorium.
