    Woman allegedly overdoses while caring for kids
    A Macedon woman was charged Feb. 15 with endangering the welfare of a child, New York state police said.
    Rhonda L. Lawton, 43, of 3270 Pine Terrace, Apt. 4, allegedly took an excessive amount of prescription medication while caring for her child, troopers said. Lawton was charged earlier this month with petit larceny and first-degree falsifying business records by Macedon police following an investigation at the Macedon Lowes and stores in Ontario and Monroe counties. The investigation revealed Lawton allegedly removed merchandise from the shelf without paying for it and then took the merchandise to the service desk for a refund, police said. Lawton allegedly never attempted payment for the said merchandise and would receive a gift card for a monetary value after she returned the merchandise.
    Upon Lawton turning herself in on Feb. 7, it was alleged that Lawton had also used another person’s identity and attempted to obtain a credit card, police said. She was additionally charged with second-degree identity theft and first-degree falsifying business records.
    During arraignment in Macedon Town Court on the older charges, Lawton allegedly became aggressive and uncooperative and resisted arrest and was then further charged with resisting arrest.
    On the current charges, Lawton was arraigned in Palmyra Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. She is scheduled to return to Macedon Town Court on Feb. 26 at 11 a.m.  
    State police were assisted at the scene by the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and the Wayne County Child Protective Services.
    Lyons
    Unlicensed driver nabbed
    A Lyons man was charged Jan. 8 with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unsafe tires, New York state police said.
    Emmanuel L. Davis, 27, was stopped on Pilgrimport Road in Lyons for have unsafe tires and found to have drugs, troopers said.
    He was issued appearance tickets for Lyons Town Court and released.
    Red Creek
    Man found with unregistered handgun
    A Red Creek man was charged Jan. 16 with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Dylan C. Williams, 19, of 6641 South St., was allegedly found with an unregistered handgun during a home visit by Wayne County Probation, deputies said. The charge is a felony since Williams was previously convicted of a crime and in possession of a weapon.
    He was arraigned in Wolcott Village Court and released on his own recognizance.
    Marion
    Man allegedly violates order
    A Marion man was charged Jan. 17 with second-degree criminal contempt, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Timothy J. Taylor, 19, of Steurrys Road, was allegedly found in a residence where a person lived for which he had an order of protection, deputies said.

    Palmyra
    Man charged with DWI
    A Marion man was charged Jan. 15 with felony driving while intoxicated, felony operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of .8 percent or more and refusing to submit to a breath screening, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Michael E. Bell, 34, of 3759 Huntley Road, Lot 32, was stopped on East Main Street in the village of Palmyra following a suspicious vehicle complaint and found to be intoxicated, deputies said.
    He was arraigned in Palmyra Village Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
    Walworth
    Man allegedly found with drugs
    A Walworth man was charged Jan. 11 with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and uninspected vehicle, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Brian J. O’Reilly, 31, of 3615 Daansen Road, was stopped on Walworth Marion Road in Walworth and allegedly found to have 25 grams of marijuana, deputies said.
    He was issued appearance tickets for Walworth Town Court and released.
    Savannah
    Man allegedly steals camera
    A Savannah man was charged Jan. 14 with petit larceny and fifth-degree possession of stolen property, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Brandon Sampson, 18, of 1954 Hadden Road, allegedly took a trail camera from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Game Preserve in Savannah, deputies said. At the time, the camera was being used to study wildlife in the area.
    He was issued appearance tickets for Savannah Town Court and released.
    Walworth
    Man allegedly chokes victim
    A Walworth man was charged Jan. 15 with criminal obstruction of breathing, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Audie Arliss Jr., 27, of 2269 Walworth Marion Road, allegedly choked a family member during a domestic dispute, deputies said.
    He was arraigned in Walworth Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
    Williamson
    Man charged after domestic dispute
    A Newark man was charged Jan. 22 with second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree criminal contempt, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said.
    Allen Miller, 32, of Blue Cut Road, was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute in Williamson violating a court order, deputies said.
    He was arraigned in Williamson Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
    WILLIAMSON
    Man charged with DWI following crash
    Wayne County sheriff’s deputies charged Adam J. Noto II, 25, of Williamson, on Friday, Feb. 8 with driving while intoxicated following a one-car crash.
    Deputies said Noto was driving north on Townline Road and lost control of his vehicle and crashed. Besides DWI, he was issued multiple traffic tickets and is to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date.

    Felony DWI charges for Newark woman
    Wayne County sheriff’s deputies charged Danielle M. Clark, 30, of Washington Street, Newark, with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the village on Sunday, Feb. 10.
    Deputies said she was stopped after she allegedly drove her vehicle into a snow bank along East Union Street.
    She was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony aggravated driving while intoxicated and operating without insurance. Clark was arraigned in Newark Village Court and was taken to the Wayne County Jail on bail. She will reappear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
    NEWARK
    Felony DWI charges for Newark man
    Wayne County sheriff’s deputies arrested Andrew C. East, 23, of 12 Park Ave., Newark, with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Sunday, Feb. 10.
    According to deputies, East was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and unsafe backing. He was released after being issued tickets and is to reappear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
    MARION
    Marion man charged with harassment
    Wayne County sheriff’s deputies charged Michael A. Porterfield, 42, of Parker Road, Marion, on Tuesday, Feb. 13, for second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.
    Deputies said the arrest was the result of a domestic dispute between Porterfield and a family member. He was arraigned in Marion Town Court and was released, with a stay away order of protection. He is to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.
    PALMYRA
    Palmyra woman charged in domestic dispute
    Sarah M. Obrien, 30, of Macedon Center Road, Palmyra, was arrested Feb. 17 by Wayne County sheriff’s deputies as the result of a domestic dispute between Obrien and a family member and was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. It is alleged that Obrien punched the family member in the face and destroyed property belonging to the family member.
    Obrien was arraigned in Palmyra Town Court and was released with a stay away order of protection. Obrien is to appear in Palmyra Town Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
    WILLIAMSON
    Williamson man charged with grand larceny
    Wayne County sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald J. Desbrough, 28, of Ridgeway St., Williamson, following an investigation into a domestic disturbance. Deputies alleged that Desbrough took a debit card without permission from the purse of a relative following a domestic disturbance at that relative’s house in the town of Sodus.
    Desbrough was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. He was arraigned before the Sodus Town Court where he was remanded to Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He will reappear before the Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer these charges.
