Tours will soon be available at the historic Hotchkiss building in Lyons.

The Lyons Heritage Society owns and manages the H.G. Hotchkiss Essential Oil Building in Lyons. The building is an 1830's office and bottling company that has been left intact. It is on both the State and National Registries of Historic Sites.

Tours explaining the history of the peppermint oil business will be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. June through August, as well as on special events such as Lyons Peppermint Days July 13 through 15. The building will be open on Saturday and Sunday. Tours and/or presentations may also be arranged by calling 946-4596 or 946-6316.  

Lyons Heritage Society's docents include Jessica Edgington, Annette Harris, Eric Lewis, Pat Gorthy, Mayor Corrine Kleisle, Patricia Alena, Richard (Mr. Peppermint) Kelley, Theresa Streb, Carol Agnew and Carol Bailey. They are ready to meet and greet visitors to the building.
