    WRESTLERS TO WATCH Evan Vershay, sr.; Kyle Vershay, sr., Mitch Fisher, jr.; Nate Gilligan, jr.; Vinny Romeo, jr.; Tyler Ordiway, sr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Romeo (25-12) and Ordiway (25-8) finished third at sectionals last year. Evan Vershay finished 23-13, Kyle Vershay finished 23-14, Gilligan finished 22-16 and Fisher finished 21-20.
    COACH’S COMMENT “All spent time competing and attending camps during the off-season”

    WRESTLERS TO WATCH James Taylor, sr.; Jake Miller, jr.; Bobby Mowers, sr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Taylor is a two-time sectional place winner, Miller placed third last year and Mowers placed sixth.
    COACH’S COMMENT “The boys are working hard in practice and getting better every day.”

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Raes (32-9) finished third at sectionals and fifth at supersectionals. Woodard (31-17) finished second at sectionals. Graham (33-18) finished fourth at sectionals. Mateo III (42-8) won sectionals and finished fourth at supersectionals. Peacock (49-2) won states, sectionals and finished second at supersectionals. Charlette (35-13) finished second at sectionals and third at supersectionals. Fox (46-2) won sectionals and finished third at supersectionals. Maher (32-21) finished fifth at sectionals. Smith (44-5) won sectionals, finished second at supersectionals and fourth at states.
    COACH’S COMMENT “This year the Midlakes varsity wrestling team will be returning 12 starters in its lineup. The team has put in a lot of time competing in the off-season, in the hopes of challenging for another Section 5 BBB championship, as well as a state dual meet championship.”

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Bush went 34-7 last year and Doreen finished 29-9.

    WRESTLERS TO WATCH Sean Biery, jr.; Matt Blair, sr.; Cody Cornelius, sr.; Marcus Currington, sr.; Dylan Harmon, fr.; Joe Gorsuch, sr.; Blake Jackson, fr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Biery (29-7) won the Jack Fisher Tournament. Blair (33-15) finished fourth at sectionals and sixth at supersectionals. Cornelius (28-19) finished sixth at sectionals. Currington (29-17) finished second at the Byron-Bergen Tournament. Harmon (31-14) finished fourth at sectionals. Gorsuch (39-8) won the Jack Fisher Tournament and finished third at sectionals. Jackson (23-5) went undefeated at Dunkirk Duals.
    COACH’S COMMENT “We’re very motivated as a team, minus a couple of weights we have a really solid team this year.”

    WRESTLERS TO WATCH Taylor Jones, sr.; Max  Lloyd, so.; Cody Bourgeois, sr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Jones is a two-time sectional champion and finished fourth at supersectionals as a junior. Lloyd finished fourth at supersectionals. Bourgeois was the runner-up at sectionals.
    COACH’S COMMENT “I am excited about this year’s team.  We have a good balance of seasoned wrestlers with some exciting youth.”

    2011-12 Finished seventh at sectionals
    WRESTLERS TO WATCH Tyler Peacock, sr.; Aaron Bodine, sr.; John Martisch, jr.; Courtney Lafler, so.; Michael Peacock, fr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Tyler Peacock (22-15) finished fifth at leagues. Bodine is returning from an injury. Martisch (39-5) finished second in league and sectionals. Lafler went 23-21 and Michael Peacock went 25-19.
    COACH’S COMMENT “We hope to surprise a few teams.”

    WRESTLERS TO WATCH Andrew Ogrodowski, so.; Austin Schaertl, sr.; Mikel Blair, jr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS Ogrodowski finished second at sectionals last year.
    COACH’S COMMENT “Mikel is the leader of the team and the team respects him by voting him as the team captain. Mikel and Austin look to be far better than last year and have high expectations for this season. Andrew is looking to pick up where he left off last year and hopes to seek a sectional title.”

    WRESTLERS TO WATCH Mike Venosa, 8th; TD Ierlan, fr.; Dylan Thireos, sr.; Stevie Hetelekides, so.; Tim Dattilo, sr.; Ben Klei, jr.; Ethan Venosa, sr.; Corey Zuhlsdorf, sr.
    ACCOMPLISHMENTS All were supersectional qualifiers last season. Thireos was the Class A champion and Zuhlsdorf was a Class A runner-up. Hetelekides and an Ethan Venosa both placed fifth at the state qualifier.
    COACH’S COMMENT “We are looking to win a league title and compete for the Class A championship.”
