  • Welcome to the opening weekend of bass season — a season we all look forward to! My prediction for hot lure this week is the Yamamoto Senko in Watermelon with red fleck, but when all else fails live bait, especially grass crabs, will do you good.
    Canandaigua Lake
The Finger Lakes Open is holding their bass tournament at the south end of Canandaigua on June 29.
    Hemlock/Canadice Lakes
Due to the water temperatures still being low, they are catching crappie off the shorelines here, as well as bass and pickerel.
    Honeoye Lake
Watch for Fix It 4 U out on the lake June 23. Avon Anglers will be out there bright and early Sunday for their bass tournament. Local reports have also mentioned perch being caught just outside the weedlines.
    Conesus Lake
Lots going on coming up on Conesus, tournament wise — look for the start of the Working Man Tournament this Tuesday, from 6 to 9 p.m. Fix It 4 U will be out there June 19, and the Avon Anglers will be holding their Spring Dash for Cash on June 29.
Happy Fathers Day! Treat yourself to a day out on the lake.
