Students at Lyons Elementary School participated in the Veterans Remembrance Program in cooperation with the Elks as a means of tribute and honor to the nation’s veterans.

Lyons Elementary School students in grades 4, 5 and 6 recently helped bring holiday cheer to veterans residing at the Canandaigua Veterans Administration Hospital.

Under the direction of art teacher Jeanette Claeysen, many Christmas cards were made by the students and distributed by members of Lyons Elks Lodge No. 869 under their Veterans Remembrance Program.

Elks Veterans Committee Chairman David DeWolf accepted the cards and will arrange for their distribution at the VA Hospital.

Students at Lyons Elementary School have participated in this program in cooperation with the Elks as a means of tribute and honor to the nation’s veterans for several years.

Lyons Elementary School Principal Mark Clark enlisted the members of its staff to assist Claeysen in this program.
