Firefighters from Hopewell had to contend with the large snow flakes falling as they came in for mutual aid on a barn fire at Freshour Road in Shortsville on Friday morning.
Those flakes will fade to flurries with mostly cloudy skies this afternoon. A dusting to an inch is still possible tonight, according to the News10NBC weather forecast.
Other parts of western and central New York have received 15 to 21 inches of snow and more is expected from lake-effect storms accompanied by windy conditions.
Winds gusting to more than 60 mph on Thursday knocked out power to more than 20,000 utility customers across upstate New York. All but about 1,000 have had power restored.
