  • On Dec. 18, the Newark Village Board of Trustees granted permission to the Newark Knights of Columbus, Council 897, to errect a Christmas Nativity Scene in Newark Central Park.
Members of the Council gathered on Christmas Eve and made short work of erecting the holiday icon.
"We feel like the nativity scene is home again, in Central Park, giving the Community of Newark a Holy Christmas message,” said Grand Knight Richard Bogan. “We are appreciative to The Newark Village Board for giving us the opportunity to share this Christmas message from our late member Bernard Celso and his son, Reverend Thomas Celso. We hope this can continue as our holiday tradition in the future as it was in the past."
