On Dec. 2, Kent “Chuck” Collier was recognized by the Experience Works program for his dedication and hard work.

Experience Works is a federal program that helps unemployed senior citizens receive training to help them find employment.

In order to be successful, the Experience Works program must work with local host sites, to provide the seniors with a setting to learn new work skills. Collier was placed with the Wayne County Action Program, Inc. Weatherization Assistance Program as a crew member. During his placement he received experience and training, and demonstrated a strong work ethic. The opportunity arose and he was hired as a full-time Weatherization crew member.

Collier was presented with a certificate naming him the Experience Works Member of the Year. Presenting the award were Karen Mastronardi, state director of Experience Works; Joe Scoglio, Experience Works employment and training coordinator of Central New York; and Betty Schafer, Experience Works administrative assistant of Central New York.
