  • Webster—Robert R. Lewis died peacefully on Aug. 6, 2013 at age 81.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word, 597 East Ave., Rochester.
Bob was born on Aug. 20, 1932 in Rochester.  He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Hazel Lewis. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia; sons, David (Besty) and Stephen; daughter, Lisa (Robert) Rathke; grandsons, Andrew and Justin Lewis and Patrick Rathke.
Bob was a member of the Chorus of the Genesee and the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 25 years. For the past 20 years he spent summers at Chautauqua Institution where he was a member of the Motet Choir and the Sunday Choir. Woodworking, singing and traveling the world added pleasure and wonderment to his life. Along with his wife, he was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word. Married for 30 years, Bob and Marcia enjoyed a life filled with love for each other and those they met all over the world. His family is so grateful to the fifth floor doctors and nurses at Rochester General Hospital, who gave compassionate care to Bob as he battled lung cancer, T.B. and pneumonia.
To honor Bob’s life reach out and touch someone’s life to make a difference in our world. This is what Bob did in his life and what he hopes people will do in theirs. An on-line message may be left through Sept. 12 at legacy.com.
