  • LETTER: Benz has been, and will be, 'a tremendous leader' in Webster

  • In a time when the reform agenda is at the forefront and education in New York state is ever changing, Paul is the type of person who would be a steady and calming presence for our district.

  • As a member of the Webster community for many years and as a teacher in the district, I am writing in support of Paul Benz as a candidate for the Webster Central School District school board. Paul has worked in the district in many capacities, including as a math teacher at Willink Middle School and an assistant principal at Spry Middle School. Among some of his outstanding qualities are a tremendous work ethic along with the ability to foster understanding in times of disagreement.
I have had the pleasure to teach both of Paul’s children, who are excellent students, and I know that as a parent he is invested in the school community and supports the educational system in Webster. In the years that I worked with Paul as an administrator, I appreciated his enthusiasm, his ability to connect with students of all types, and the way that he supported his staff members. Paul approached each day with a positive attitude and this, in addition to his consistency and level-headed decision making, make him a tremendous leader.
In a time when the reform agenda is at the forefront and education in New York state is ever changing, Paul is the type of person who would be a steady and calming presence for our district. I am hopeful that he is given strong consideration to be selected as a member of the board as he has been tried and true as a citizen, parent, and educator in the Webster community.
